What does this mean?

I often walk by the printer (not the one by Sara the other one) and see this button lit up. So I figure they just don't know what it means so that is why they don't act on it...

That little light means that the toner needs to be changed. Toner can be located in the drawer under the printer or in the supply closet.

Conference Calling

I get asked this question quite a bit so here goes. We have conference calling through a company called Live Office Conference Calling. Our number is 1-800-391-1709. The participant code is 913960 and the moderator code (our code) is 6587. All I ask is that when you use the service please fill out a credit card charge form (I will attach the receipt and amount) so that we will know where to bill it.

Google Reader

There is this neat little widget online called Google Reader. Google Reader constantly checks your favorite news sites and blogs for new content. Whether a site updates daily or monthly, you can be sure that you won't miss a thing. Google Reader shows you all of your favorite sites in one convenient place. It's like a personalized inbox for the entire web. This way whenever I post a new blog entry on this here troubleshooting blog you will always be up to date on the latest and the greatest.

To set it up click the link below and enter your gmail address and password or set up an account if you do not have one. Once that is done click on Add Subscription and enter a search term to find feeds or paste a feed url. It's that simple but... if you need help setting it up let me know and I will gladly walk you through it. Trust me it is a WONDERFUL tool but warning...it can get addictive.

Color Printer

Do we have a color printer??? Yes, we have one and it resides in Sara's space. If you need to print to it either let me or Sara know and we will take care of it. I mean if we put it on your desktop we just can't have you printing pictures of your family reunion, Uncle Joe Joe's fish fry and your sister's brother's cousins graduation. Now that wouldn't be right...So if you need something printed, let us know but if you really just want it on your computer just as the others, let me know and I'll make it happen for you...but the first time I see Aunt Mamies pet poodle I am revoking all privileges!.

Newsprint!!!

So this has been all the rave. This wonderful flip chart paper that we use constantly. Please be aware that because we use is so frequently it often runs out. This morning we went to get flipchart paper for Nicole to take to her training and there were 3 boxes ALL EMPTY! Please please please, once you use the last one put the empty box in the hallway so that the cleaning crew can take it away. When we are restocking supplies and we see what appears to be 3 boxes of newsprint we don't re order so it would be very helpful if you use it you trash it. We also will check to make sure the box is full as well.

How do I Scan and PDF

As most of you probably now our copier is also a scanner. It scans directly to a drive on our computer called the S:/ drive (S for scanner :-) and turns it into a PDF document. It does NOT scan in color or scan graphics with photo quality very well.

• Enter the account code and then hit SEND next to express copy on the screen
• Then hit the Canon Scans button to select that as the destination
• If you have a 2-sided document hit Two-sided original and on the next screen Book type
• You can also name your document by hitting Send Settings and in Send Doc. Name type in anything you want.
• Now hit start and it will scan and be waiting for you in the S:/ drive when you get to your computer.
